"로마인의 마지막 사람"으로 알려진 플라비우스 아이티우스(c. 391-454 CE)는 로마의 주요 장군이자 정치가였습니다.  그는 451년 카탈라우니아 평원 전투에서 훈족의 아틸라를 물리치고 훈족의 서유럽 진출을 막았습니다.  Magister militum의 지위를 맡은 Aetius는 서로마 제국이 쇠퇴하는 동안 안정을 유지하기 위해 끊임없이 노력했습니다.  그는 자신의 세력이 커지는 것에 대한 두려움 때문에 서기 454년 발렌티니아누스 3세 황제에 의해 암살당했지만, 제국의 몰락을 지연시킨 중추적인 군사 지도자로 여전히 추앙받고 있습니다.

Flavius Haitius (c. 391-454 CE), known as the "last man of the Romans," was the main general and politician of Rome. He defeated Attila of the Huns in the Battle of Catalan Plains in 451 and prevented the Huns from entering Western Europe. Aetius, who took the position of Magister militum, constantly tried to maintain stability during the decline of the Western Roman Empire. He was assassinated by Emperor Valentinian III in 454 AD because of fear of his growing power, but is still revered as a pivotal military leader who delayed the fall of the empire.
