We say that for two main reasons.
First of all, it is important for the soul to feel its own way through life experiences. At first, the soul comes from the conscious mind and uses reasoning and the five senses or logic for its manifestation. Logic alone cannot express the true truth of the manifestation.
A combination of logic and feeling is required for the manifestation process to be completed. When the soul begins to identify with its emotions, it activates the subconscious mind and the characteristic gift of God inherent in each soul.

One example is the characteristic of God's gift or "patience". when the soul is in the experience of life and begins to feel impatient we want it to sit as long as possible and learn to feel this impatience The reason why the soul feels impatient is that it has not developed the divine characteristic of 'patience' in its subconscious mind.
