극저주파(ELF) 시대

극저주파(ELF)는 3~30Hz 주파수와 10만~10만 킬로미터 파장의 전자기 방사선(전파)에 대한 ITU 지정입니다.ELF 파동은 또한 지구나 암석까지 상당한 거리를 침투할 수 있으며, '지구를 관통하는' 지하 광산 통신 시스템은 300~3000Hz의 주파수를 사용합니다. 전력망에 흐르는 교류 전류(50Hz 또는 60Hz)의 주파수도 ELF 대역에 속하므로 전력망은 의도치 않은 ELF 방사선의 공급원이 됩니다.

고출력 극저주파 전파 낮은 kV/m 범위의 전기장 레벨을 가진 주파수는 인체 내에서 인식 가능한 전류를 유도하여 성가신 따끔거림을 유발하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 이러한 전류는 일반적으로 발과 같은 신체 접촉 표면을 통해 지면으로 흐르거나 원호를 통해 신체가 잘 절연된 지면으로 흐릅니다.[1]

The frequency of alternating current (50 Hz or 60 Hz) flowing through the grid also falls within the ELF band, so the grid becomes a source of unintended ELF radiation.
