More than 6,000 years ago, a mysterious civilization had a detailed map of our solar system. The Sumerians used clay to create these paintings.
Surviving pictures show that the Sun is a star at the center of the Solar System and that we understood that other planets orbit around the Solar System. I even sketched the planet's orbit and position accurately.
Interestingly, some of their paintings also depict strange images with huge entities. The Sumerians regarded them as gods. Interestingly, some of these paintings of gods also display symbols similar to human DNA sequences. There were also symbols related to medicine, which are very similar to modern medical symbols.
Even today, we still do not understand how the oldest civilizations of mankind thousands of years ago had a profound knowledge of astronomy. This raises the question of whether this ancient civilization has made progress far beyond our current understanding of them, not backward.
