Now, let's talk about the magic book, "The Divine Magic of the Wizard Abramelin." You may have heard of it before, but in this lecture, I will explain it for beginners. The book's basic purpose is to summon the Guardian Angel, and then to summon 12 powerful demons to gain the ability to use magic squares. A portion of the magic square is shown on the pages of the German version of the book from the 1700s, shown below.
This book is said to have been written by Abraham of Worms, a Jew who lived between 1363-1458 years. He received the book from his teacher, the wizard Abramelin, and the book was named after his teacher. It is not entirely certain when the book first appeared, but it is so old that a German version dating back to 1608 is known. The first widely distributed version was published in 1897 by McGregor Mathers, the head of the Golden Dawn Society. Mathers translated his edition from a French manuscript of three volumes. Some German editions have four volumes.
The book's basic goal is a six-month ritual (18 months in the German version). this process is to build a small room and call it a prayer-room to pray to meet the guardian angel for six months and to purify the body through vegetarianism and fasting and to separate itself as far as possible from the world and all kinds of sin In this book, we explain that we can sleep with our wives only to produce offspring at first, and that we cannot do so in the last month, and that we must be completely ascetic and chaste, and that we must pray in the prayer room in the morning and evening. The Guardian Angel, the other sacred angel, the great demonic ruler, their legion of subordinate spirits, and the familiar spirits designated by the demons together give them the power to use the magic square of the book, giving them treasures, healing the sick, destroying enemies, gaining hidden knowledge, gaining love, transforming into other shapes, walking on water, or flying in the air, and more fantastic powers.
