What is the Riemann Zeta Function? – And We Are Now Breaking It Down!

Hello, college students! There are countless mathematical formulas in the world, but the Riemann zeta function we’ll talk about today is a special entity that has captivated scholars for centuries, transcending the boundaries between mathematics and physics. Simply put, this function is like a key to uncovering the "rules of prime numbers." The prime numbers we’ve learned about (natural numbers greater than 1 that are divisible only by 1 and themselves) may seem randomly scattered like stars in the universe, but the Riemann zeta function was meant to reveal the deep connections hidden within these primes.

Why did it become famous historically?
In 1859, German mathematician Bernhard Riemann proposed this function and left behind the massive challenge known as the "Riemann Hypothesis." He claimed that "all non-trivial zeros of the Riemann zeta function lie on the line with real part 1/2," yet he could neither prove nor disprove it. Since then, mathematicians have devoted their all to solving this hypothesis – the Clay Mathematics Institute even named it one of the "Seven Millennium Prize Problems," offering a $1 million reward to anyone who solves it. Over time, this function came to be regarded as a sacred symbol of mathematics and was treated as an "absolute standard" across fields ranging from quantum physics to cosmology.

But now, we are breaking it down!
Until now, the scientific community has revered concepts like "infinity" and "absolute constants," confining itself to solving problems only within those frameworks. The Riemann zeta function was no exception – we believed it had infinitely many zeros and did not even allow thoughts that went beyond this. However, this was a dilemma intentionally created by forces of darkness. They established the frameworks of academia to serve their own interests, concealed the truth, and trapped humanity within the cage of a "prison planet." Revering infinity and setting absolute standards ultimately confined our thinking, becoming the reason we were unable to see the true nature of the universe and nature itself.
