깊게 들어가라
우리 대부분은 특히 이벤트와 사람, 지역적, 세계적, 유명하거나 그다지 유명하지 않은 것에 대해 너무 많이 생각합니다. 우리가 삶의 표면, 즉 눈에 보이는 것에서 일어나는 일에 대해 항상 생각한다면 그것은 마치 피상적인 삶을 살고 있는 것과 같습니다. 그리고 지상에 사는 두 사람이 만날 때, 교환, 대화는 피상적이며 때로는 전혀 의미가 없습니다. 종종 그것은 우리를 완전히 불만족스럽게 만듭니다. 그리고 우리가 표면적으로 관찰한 소식을 공유하면서 우리는 우리 자신의 피상성을 알게 되지만, 그것에 저항할 만큼 강하지는 않습니다. 내면 깊은 곳에는 목소리, 갈망, 깊은 곳으로의 부르심이 있습니다. 우리 자신의 깊이를 방문하고 탐구하고 표현하도록 상기시키는 것은 우리의 마음입니다.
모든 사람에게는 깊이가 있지만 마음과 감정을 혼동하고, 감정이 표면적인 사건에 너무 가까워진 결과라는 사실을 망각합니다. 그러므로 우리의 가장 깊은 욕구 중 하나인 깊은 곳으로 들어가려는 욕구는 좀처럼 충족되지 않습니다. 깊이 들어가고 깊어지기 위해서는 고독한 시간, 내향적인 시간, 우리 자신과의 대화가 필요합니다. 우리는 바다 밑바닥에 가서 깊이 잠수하고 조명을 켜고 카메라 렌즈를 통해 보면 그 바닥에 무엇이 있는지만 알 수 있습니다. 결과는 깊이 있는 이미지입니다.
우리가 마음 속으로 깊이 들어가 불을 켜고 살펴보지 않는 한 도대체 우리 마음 속에 있는 것이 무엇인지 어떻게 알 수 있겠습니까? 그렇게 하는 사람들은 그것이 모든 것을 변화시킨다고 말할 것입니다. 그들은 무엇을 봅니까? 단순하고 오직 아름다움과 진실만이 있을 뿐입니다. 그들은 항상 그 자리에서 우리가 돌아오기를 기다리고 있습니다. 우리를 환영하고 우리 자신을 소개하기를 기다리고 있습니다.
Go Deep
Most of us think too much, especially about events and people, local and global, famous and not so famous. When we are always thinking about what is happening on the surface of life, the visible, then it is as if we are living a superficial life. And when two people who both live on the surface meet, the exchange, the conversation, is superficial, sometimes totally bereft of meaning. Often it leaves us totally unsatisfied. And as we share news of our surface observations, we come to know our own superficiality, but we are not strong enough to resist it. Deep down inside there is a voice, a longing, a calling to depth. It's our heart, reminding us to visit, explore and express the depths of our ourselves.
Everyone has depth but we confuse the heart with emotion, and forget that emotion is the result of getting too close to events on the surface. So one of our deepest needs, which is to go in deep, is seldom satisfied. Going deep and being deep requires time spent in solitude, some periods of introversion and a conversation with ourselves. We only know what is at the bottom of the ocean by going there, diving deep and switching on a light and looking through the lens of a camera. The results are images of depth.
How on earth will we ever see what is in our heart unless we dive deep inside, switch on the light and look. Those who do will tell you it changes everything. What do they see? Simple, only beauty and truth. They are always there, waiting for us to return. Waiting to welcome us and to introduce ourselves to ourself.
